The Foundation

MISSION

Established by the family of Mario D'Onofrio (1943-2025), a medieval art historian who taught for many years at the Sapienza University of Rome, the Foundation aims to promote the study, valorisation and dissemination of medieval art, with a special focus on the education of the new generations.

Drawing on the teaching of Mario D'Onofrio, the Foundation wishes to honour his intellectual legacy by supporting the research of young scholars through prizes and scholarships, organising conferences, seminars and cultural events, and promoting publishing initiatives and projects to enhance and disseminate the medieval artistic heritage.
