The intellectual heart of the Foundation: research, rigour, vision

The Scientific Committee of the Mario D'Onofrio Foundation is the body that guides and supervises the Foundation's cultural, academic and research activities. Composed of high-profile scholars, experts in medieval art history and related disciplines, represents the methodological and intellectual continuity with the work and thought of Professor Mario D'Onofrio.

Main functions

The Committee has the task of:

• Define the scientific guidelines of the activities promoted by the Foundation

• Evaluate and select candidates for scholarships, to the prizes and the research projects

• Taking care of the contents of publishing, conference and exhibition initiatives

• Collaborating in the organisation of seminars, workshops, lecture series and study days

• Promoting academic and cultural relations with Italian and international institutions

• Ensuring the’high quality profile and scientific adherence of promoted activities

Composition

The members of the Scientific Committee are selected for:

• Recognised expertise in the fields of medieval art history, archaeology, historical architecture and iconography

• Outstanding scientific activity and academic continuity

• Direct or indirect link to Prof. D'Onofrio's work and teaching

The Committee remains in office for a three-year period and is coordinated by a President, elected internally.
