The Foundation wants to honour the intellectual legacy of Prof. Mario D'Onofrio by supporting the research of young scholars through prizes and scholarships, by organising conferences, seminars and cultural events, and by promoting publishing initiatives and projects to enhance and disseminate the medieval artistic heritage.
Every year the Foundation establishes the Mario D'Onofrio Prize with the aim of supporting unpublished studies and research projects in the field of Italian and European medieval art history.
The prize intends:
Support the work of scholars and researchers who distinguish themselves through methodological rigour and originality of content.
Promoting an interdisciplinary approach to the study of medieval art.
Enhance culture as a shared good and a tool for collective growth.
